RUMBA IS COMPAS
Our band "Rumba is compas" comes from two cousins' meeting .
They live together the travel's time and family gatherings which celebrated an event or animated evenings.
At this time, this evenings were regularly accompanied by one or more guitars around a campfire.
The natural happiness being together... We were proud to play and sing to perpetuate our culture.
The band "Rumba is Compas"'s family, living in the south of France, is one of the great Gypsy families. Every year, at least once, she gathers in "St Marie de la Mer" for the pilgrimage, in May 24 and 25.
Four generations participating in the event for tradition, with honor and pride.
Our band is composed by different ages musicians who playing the new "Flamenco world." These pieces are often composed and arranged with the Gypsy musical tradition and the World music, mixing Salsa, Rumba and Slam.
In this way, our young musicians renew the Flamenco and gather the generations in festivities... Not forgetting, of course, pure tradition pieces interpreted with the greatest respect of Flamenco masters.
"Rumba is Compas" stay a family band and Gypsy traditions are their strong point. Like
their elders, young musicians gave, in their turn, their pride to play together.
